SERMON ON THE AREA OF A CIRCLE
1.       Jairus’s Daughter Mark 5:35-43
2.       Widow of Nain Luke 7:11-15
3.       Lazarus  John 11:38-44
Lets go to Mathematics and learn something today. The area of a circle is π x r x r. where π = 3.14159265 and r is the radius of the circle or simply A = πr2. With this formula, you can calculate the area of any circle no matter how small, nomatter how big. We want to use this concerpt to explain the Power Of our Lord Jesus.
There are 3 deaths that we are going to talk about. In the cited scriptures, Jairus’ Daughter in Mark 5:35-43 had just died when Jesus came to raise her up from the dead. In Luke 7:11-15, there is another death recorded of one widow’s son from Nain. He had died for a while and Jesus met the people that were carrying the body at the exit to the graveyard. Yet another death recorded is of Lazarus in John 11. Lazarus had died for 4 days and was already stinking
Chinzwa manje nyaya iri pano!. According to dictionary, death is the ending of all vital functions or processes in an organism or cell. We are talking of hopeless situations here with their levels. I know that at times in life we are confronted with death. Your marriage could be dead, opportunities dead, finances dead. I do not care which stage it is at, one thing I know, like the area of a circle, πr2 applies on any given circle. It could be at stinking stage, dead and buried for 4 days, Jesus is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. Do not look at your situation today, Jesus is there to help you. I know I am talking to somebody out there, Jesus loves you. The devil is a liar!
God bless you.

Sermon Preached at Paddonhurst/Bred Barracks combined meeting on Friday 23 March 2012.
 Victory Over Obstacles
Mark 16:3-4/ Matt 27:62-65
"Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance to the tomb?"

When the Sabbath ended, early on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene, Salome and Mary the mother of James went out and purchased burial spices so they could anoint Jesus' body. When the left home they had one thing on mind, to see Jesus in the tomb and they were sure they would accomplish that without a problem. Only when they were reaching to the place did they remember of an obstacle, a huge stone that closed the tomb entrance. These ladies did not know that on Sabbath day the obstacle was made worse by the posting of a guard and Pontius Pilate's seal that was added to secure the entrance of the stone.

These are obstacles that can be upon your life, many of which were just placed in you life without you knowing it. You are saying to yourself  "who will roll away the stone for me from the entrance into....".

Levels to note here are: 1. the huge limitations (stone) that you may know. By yourself, you know you can't. you can't help it with that abusive husband, you can't pass that exam by your intellectual capacity, you know that you can't.... God help us in our weaknesses. Only Him!

                                   2. The guard. That person, that human force. You know very well you are qualified for the promotion but that man, that woman is standing on your way. It is not the devil, certainly not God but that man. The guard was not also representing himself but interests of the Pharisees and High Priests, what a complication! But when God intervened with a mighty earthquake (Matt 28:2-4) , the Guard trembled and fell to the ground and slept like a dead man. Musharukwa wacho haana kuchipa iyeye. The angel sat on the stone so the foolish guard would not wake up and try to block again. God is a Mighty Worrier in deed.

                                  3. The Seal. This was Pontius Pilate,s seal. He is not just a person but a system of the Roman Empire. This talks about seals that are of lineage nature. Madzinza chaiwo. Certain limitations are placed in people's lives by powers of darkness only to limit you. Vamwe vakanzi ungaroorwa asi kwedu no weddings, vamwewo vakanzi haubudirire....you know what I am talking about! Some in their paticular lineage don't live to see grandchildren, The devil is a liar. No weapon formed against you will prosper. You are a child of God. You can overcome All Obstacles through the Blood of Jesus!

God Bless You all In Jesus' Name

Hymns

Hymns are a musical genre most accepted by our Church, Apostolic Faith Mission In Zimbabwe. They are songs that are rich in Praises, Worship, Exhortations, etc. Such Praise Leaders as Baba Chiwaridzo are known for singing such songs at Rufaro Conferences. In the contemporary however, from the writer's research, youths are more interested in genres like ones Joyous Celebration of RSA offers or Hillsong types. Some assert that we can modify the Hymns to suit our modern styles of beat. What do you think?

Rufaro Youth Conference 2012.

This photo was taken at Rufaro. Such dances are expected at the Youth Conferences on the Pulpit. What do you think? Is it not right to dance for The Lord? When does it become unacceptable in your view?
